What To Know About Food Marketing

I used to select my groceries based on the "low-fat" or "reduced-fat" labels, thinking I was making the right choices.

The same went for products with more natural-looking packaging – those with neutral hues & clean, minimalist designs. That was my grocery shopping strategy for as long as I can remember. I believed I was eating healthy.

However, it turns out marketing tactics can be incredibly deceptive & if you neglect to scrutinize the nutritional information, you're missing the broader perspective!

For instance, when I used to buy low-fat, reduced-fat, or fat-free items, I later discovered that they were frequently loaded with added sugar to enhance their flavor.

Sometimes, the fat-free versions contained MORE calories than their full-fat counterparts. No wonder my relentless attempts at weight loss were unsuccessful!

My mistakes can serve as your lessons – don't be taken in by marketing claims. Take the time to read food labels & educate yourself about what constitutes a healthy diet for your unique needs!
