Navigating Opinions

When you start making lifestyle changes, suddenly everyone has an opinion about it.

When I moved from the hospital to the clinic, I started bringing my own food to work. And when I hired a coach & began counting macros for my contest prep, the opinions came rolling in.

My food either wasn’t “healthy” enough ( "that's way too many carbs" ) or it was way too “healthy” & I was ‘starving myself.’ Notice I put healthy in quotations… what does it even mean? So subjective… but that's a topic for another day!

Anyway, I would often get the “live a little” comments So annoying.

The truth is, you don’t need to care about anyone’s opinion. But since that's easier said than done, it's important to get veeeery selective about whose opinions you do care about &…

LET EVERYTHING ELSE GO.

If you have a hard time figuring out whose opinion you should value, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Are they a close friend or family member who supports your goals (even if they don't quite understand them)?

  • Are they in the arena with you, fighting to make positive changes too?

  • Are you paying them for their opinion?

If the answer to any of those questions is NO - then screw their opinion - it doesn't matter!

Because at the end of the day, you're doing this for YOU - not for Karen in Radiology. Just keep doing your thing & pretty soon the people who were poking fun at your convictions will be asking you how you did it ;)

If your goal is to get leaner and build sexy curves, I can help with that structured plan. Oh, and you won't have to give up cake either or carbs or any food you don't want to give up. Learn more about my 12 Weeks to Fitness group coaching program here
